DAY 1 - ARRIVAL IN CAPE TOWN - From the Airport you will be taken for LUNCH in Cape Town, affectionately known as the 'Mother City', at the oldest building in South Africa, the Castle of Good Hope. After lunch we will either take you on a CAPE TOWN CITY TOUR or up Table Mountain by Cablecar. Should the weather be bad for Table Mountain today, this will be done on another day. - Overnight Cape Town

DAY 2 - PENINSULA TOUR - This is an unforgettable journey to "The Fairest Cape in all the World". Traveling along the spectacular coastlines of the Atlantic and Indian Oceans, the tour incorporates breathtaking scenery, an abundance of diverse flora and fauna and a dose of history for good measure. Visits include Hout Bay, a fishing harbour with an optional boat ride to Seal Island traveling to Cape Point & Good Hope Nature Reserve over Chapman’s Peak, one of the most famous coastal roads in the world. LUNCH at the Roaring Forties Restaurant. You can spend time on Boulders Beach with the Jackass Penguin Colony. Returning to Cape Town we pass the historic naval town of Simon's Town and finally stroll through KIRSTENBOSCH Botanical gardens. Overnight Cape Town.

DAY 3 - WINELANDS - This full day outing is spent tasting our delightful wines whilst absorbing the stunning scenery. Start the day with a CELLAR TOUR and a Winetasting, after which we do a city tour of the friendly university town of STELLENBOSCH known for its well-preserved Cape Dutch, Georgian and Victorian architecture, and visit the VILLAGE MUSEUM comprising four historic houses and their gardens, each representing a different period in the architectural development of Stellenbosch. Optional Lunch in area. Return via BOSCHENDAL Wine Estate to visit a typical Cape Dutch Homestead and farm. Overnight Cape Town.

DAY 4 - TOWNSHIP VISIT - This is our specialty and the reality of a visit to South Africa, the other side of Table Mountain. Experience the township vibe, where the poorest of the poor take pride in showing you their humble homes. Smiling, welcoming faces greet you. We will visit the small food garden we started in LANGA (the oldest township in Cape Town) and a HERBALIST and then we visit NEW REST, a small informal community in GUGULETU we have been involved with since 1997. A crèche was built for the children with the help of tourists from all over the world, in particular Norway and Denmark. Here we do a walkabout visit and you may take as many pictures as you like. From New Rest we drive through the taxi rank, market and meat street, where meat is cooked and sold direct from the fires. Finally, we will have a TRADITIONAL XHOSA LUNCH at AYANAMKELA in the Townships. During lunch a group of Xhosa singers will entertain you. The afternoon can be spent at leisure or take an optional trip to ROBBEN ISLAND. - Overnight Cape Town

DAY 5 - GARDEN ROUTE - Depart from Cape Town via Route 62 which is the tourist route, that meanders between Cape Town and Oudtshoorn, the Garden Route and Port Elizabeth, offering the shorter, scenic alternative to the N2 highway. It's an area of magnificent landscapes and towering cliffs, crystal clear streams and the abundance of trees and indigenous flora - all contribute to making the Breede River Valley and the Klein Karoo two of the Western Cape's most diverse regions. The ever changing colours of the majestic mountains, scenic passes, rivers, vineyards and orchards, as well as the multitude of attractions, will offer you an unforgettable adventure — whether this is in the physical sense or simply a kaleidoscope of scenic tranquility In Worcester we will visit KLEINPLASIE Living Open-air Museum, opened to the public in 1981, shows the lifestyle of the earlier agricultural community. Each building represents a particular agricultural sector in the Western Cape during the period between 1690 and 1900. In and around these buildings, a variety of home and agricultural industries are being demonstrated to the public, just as they have been done in those years. We continue our journey for optional lunch in BARRYDALE, like all Little Karoo villages, it has known times of hardship and prosperity. Today is the centre of a prosperous farming district, it enjoys perfect year round weather and its wonderful scenic setting attracts a steadily growing number of visitors. After lunch we travel through the semi-arid Klein Karoo to OUDTSHOORN, the capital of the Ostrich Feather Industry. Enjoy the breathtaking rustic mountainous beauty and fertile valleys of the Western Cape contrasting sharply with the tranquil arid conditions of the Klein Karoo on your first day. Our next destination is the CANGO WILDLIFE RANCH and Wildlife Breeding Centre, which specializes in crocodiles and big cats - Overnight Oudtshoorn

DAY 6 - This morning, we make our way to the CANGO CAVES a national heritage sight of unequalled natural beauty. On your arrival walk into the inner depths of the World famous Cango Caves. Your venture far into the inner chambers of the stunningly beautiful world-famous pre-historic caves will be totally unforgettable. After the Caves we visit an OSTRICH FARM for LUNCH and a guided tour. You will see the world’s largest, flightless bird. These birds are known throughout the world for their feathers, leather and meat. Tours include riding an ostrich , standing on an ostrich egg to see how strong it is and during breeding season, experiencing the hatching of eggs. - Overnight Oudtshoorn

DAY 7 - We leave Oudtshoorn and the arid little Karoo for greenery of Knysna, you’ll experience the change of scenery from very dry to lush forest. Before reaching Knysna, the route takes us through the beautiful Outeniqua Mountain to George. Knysna is a quaint historical seaside village; a community nestled between the fringes of the dark mountainous forest and the ocean. Once in Knysna we visit the historical Holy Trinity Church, Belvidere, a fine example of 12th century Norman architecture, Brenton on Sea, Knysna Heads, as well other the popular attractions in this lovely town. Optional lunch at the Knysna Waterfront. - Overnight Knysna.

DAY 8 - Today we take a ferry across the Knysna Lagoon to FEATHERBED NATURE RESERVE, and spend the morning on a tractor trailer ride to the top of the Reserve, walking casually back to the jetty via forests, caves, and a lagoonside path. Enjoy a buffet LUNCH under the indigenous Milkwood trees before departing for the “mainland” in the early afternoon. Spend the afternoon at leisure in Knysna. - Overnight Knysna

DAY 9- Today, we travel east through the popular holiday resort of PLETTENBERG BAY, stopping for a swim in the Indian Ocean, en route driving through the TSITSIKAMMA FOREST to the rugged coastline of STORMS RIVER MOUTH, the eastern end of the Garden Route where a walk to the actual river mouth is pleasant, but not strenuous. Lunch at Strormsriver Mouth optional. The day is a diverse combination of deep river gorges, long sandy beaches, rivers, and natural African rain forest, with a visit to the BIG TREE, a yellowwood believed to be over 800 years old. - Overnight Knysna.

DAY 10 - Early departure. Today we take go to BOTLIERSKOP PRIVATE GAME RESERVE for a 4 x 4 Safari (09h00) and LUNCH , where you have an excellent chance of experiencing close encounters with rhinoceros, lions, buffalo, giraffe, rare black impala and many more, in an exhilarating 3 hour guided game drive. Then we move on to Mossel Bay to stop to visit, the Post Office Tree and famous Milkwood tree used by mariners of old to post their letters to family back home. When the Portuguese Seafarer, Diaz searched for a route to India, it was here where he landed after rounding the African continent. In a museum, we can see a replica of the Caravelle, the boat in which he made the epic journey. - Overnight Mossel Bay

DAY 11 - Our trip back to Cape Town takes us over the Gouritz Bridge, where you can take a daring leap and bungee jump or bridge swing. Visit to the Aloe Vera Factory in Albertinia. Opttional Lunch will be in SWELLENDAM where we will visit their Museums. The FAREWELL DINNER will take place at MARCO’s AFRICAN PLACE. Enjoy Marco’s tasty food, while you listen to a LIVE Band playing upbeat African music, and experience the true African vibe. - Overnight in the Cape town

DAY 12 - AIRPORT TRANFER - In the morning spend time in the V&A WATERFRONT for last minute shopping. En route to the Airport we will stop at BLAAUWBERGSTRAND to walk on the beach (time permitting) and to take photos of Table Mountain from across Table Bay, the place from which Table Mountain is photographed the most.
